Housekeeping Management
This module delves into the management of the housekeeping department and the role of the hotel housekeeper, an essential figure in ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
Students will acquire skills in:
- The role of the housekeeper: regulations, requirements, responsibilities and importance in hotel management;
- Room control and evaluation: standards and protocols to ensure quality and hygiene;
- Housekeeping staff management: team organization, division of tasks and coordination with other departments;
- Supervision of chambermaids: assigning rooms, checking work done and managing timetables;
- Cleaning chemicals: types, correct use and safety;
- Color code: identification system to avoid contamination and ensure hygiene.
At the end of the lesson, a theoretical and practical exam on the cleaning process of a room is planned, to verify the acquisition of the skills learned.
