MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Congresses, Events)

This module provides an overview of the MICE sector, which is a key industry in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Students will explore:

  • Main purpose of MICE: to organize events to promote networking, professional updates and motivation;
  • Event classification: distinctions between meetings, incentives, conferences and fairs;
  • Organizational phases: from planning to implementation, with attention to logistics and participant management;
  • Event organizer role: skills and responsibilities in managing events of various sizes;
  • Mega events: how they are planned, the resources involved and the economic and social impacts.

Wedding Planner

In a separate module, you will discover the role of the Wedding Planner, a professional figure that is increasingly in demand. The following aspects will be covered:

  • Origins of the role: evolution of the role and its importance in the sector;
  • How a Wedding Planner works: management of all the organizational phases of a wedding;
  • Responsibilities: budget management, supplier selection and general coordination;
  • Moodboard creation: how to translate the couple’s requests into a coherent visual project;
  • Package and decoration development: development of offers and personalization of events.

At the end of these two training units, a written exam and a group presentation with the creation of a hypothetical event are planned to test the skills acquired.
